Date Jar

 So during my 2 week from work I started a little project. The boyfriend and I have kinda had a rough summer so I decided we needed something to mix it up a little. After looking at alot of different blogs I saw an idea that came up often.

A Date Jar!

I got the popsicle sticks & the jar at the dollar store. The hardest part was coming up with date ideas. I wanted each color stick to be a certain theme & I wanted to have at least 5 ideas for each. I'll list all the dates by theme in case anybody ever needs some date ideas.

Orange Sticks = Museums.
I wanted a mix of places from OC and LA.
1. Bowers Museum
2. Nixon Library
3. Queen Mary
4. Getty Center
5. La Brea Tar Pits
6. Santa Ana Zoo
7. Griffith Observatory

Blue = Food.
1. Eat at a new resturant
2. Cook dinner together
3. Have a picnic
4. Dessert Date
5. Bake together
6. Make homemade pizza
7. Go beer/wine tasting 

Yellow= Free or Cheap
 1. Rent a scary movie
2. Finger Paint a picture for each other
3. Have a bonfire
4. Watch the sunrise
5. Play video games
6. Backyard camping

Green = Active/Outdoors
1. Take a dance class
2. Go on a bike ride
3. Go Bowling
4. Play mini golf 
5. Play Twister
6. Fly kites
7. Tide Pools @ Crystal Cove
8. Play baseball
9. Go shooting

Purple = Store related
1. Go to a comic book store
2. Find a project at the craft store
3. Buy a present for each other at the dollar store
4. Check out thrift stores
5. Go to a candy store
6. Go to Build-A-Bear
7. Go the swap meet

Red = Expensive & needs more planning
1. San Diego trip
2. Eat at a fancy restaurant
3. Universal Studios
4. See a show
5. Go to a concert
6. Santa Barbara trip
7. Hotel stay for 1 night
8. Go to a casino


 I don't know how many dates we'll actually go on but it will be nice to do something different than dinner & a movie every once in awhile. I totally had a picture of the finished jar too but I can't find it & I can't take another right now since the jar is at the boyfriend's house. Oh well, it was cute tho!

Tomorrow is the first day of the school year! I get to meet my new 1st & 2nd graders, hope they are good!
